Upgrade your breakfast with hash brown potatoes

The hash browns They are a food that became popular as part of breakfast in luxurious hotels in the United States, mainly in New York. Today they can be found in almost all restaurants in that country that offer breakfast on their menu.

In Mexico, they have reached the taste of diners thanks to chains such as American snack bars or fast food.

It is not a recipe difficult, you just have to have a little patience and the right technique, so take the time to prepare these hash browns and surprise yourself with how easy they are to do and the great result you can get.

1 medium white potato (per person)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon butter

Peel the potato and grate it into strips of medium thickness.
Place the grated potato on a sky blanket or clean kitchen towel. Squeeze to remove excess liquid.
Spread the potato out on the towel and let it dry for a couple of minutes.
In a frying pan (preferably non-stick) heat the oil and butter.
Place the potato in one layer, add salt and pepper, without stirring.
Cover and cook for five minutes over medium-high heat.
Uncover and turn over with the help of a turner.
Cook uncovered until bottom is browned.
Remove from the fire and serve.
