The meeting will focus on the agenda of the parliamentary committee, which has numerous horizontal, institutional and specific political powers. In this half of the IX legislature, some of its priorities are the adequate regulation of artificial intelligence and the configuration of the Digital Services Law. The Legal Affairs Committee is currently amending the regulations relating to the service of documents and the taking of evidence, and intends to finalize the Representative Actions Directive. On the other hand, the unblocking of the files on women to the boards of directors and on the country reports remains on the agenda, as well as the task related to the adaptation of the legal acts of the Union to the legal framework of the Treaty of Lisbon and on the reform of comitology. The chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee will connect from Strasbourg to the meeting that will take place in room 55.309 of the Tànger building on the UPF Poblenou campus (C/ de Roc Boronat, 138) and is open to the entire university community and to interested media. After the MEP’s initial presentation, a question time will be opened for the students present at the event. The media will also be able to ask questions, but those of the students will be prioritized. The session will be presented and moderated by the coordinator of Diari de Barcelona, ​​Roger Cassany.

This will be the third of the “European Breakfasts of the DdB”, which will be held periodically in the coming months at the UPF Poblenou campus and which will have institutional positions in the European Parliament as guests.

Adrián Vázquez (Madrid, 1982) has been a member of the European Parliament since 2020, a member of the parliamentary group of Renew Europe (Renew), and has chaired the Legal Affairs Committee since his entry into the European Parliament.
