Recipe: Red Velvet Pancakes

The Red Velvet or Red velvet It is a classic on Valentine’s Day. The red color of the cake and that taste of cocoa so smooth it makes us all fall in love with the charms of this sweet. It is very common to find this variety in biscuits and cupcakes. However, in digital freedom we wanted to extrapolate it to one of my favorite breakfasts: the American pancakes.

It will take us no effort to make these pancakes and you will surely be delighted to enjoy a breakfast OR afternoon snack delicious and very Elegant. You can accompany them with what you like the most: syrup, jam, born mounted

What better than some delicious pancakes and a coffee to start the day on the right foot? The visit of friends or relatives is also a good time to show your skills in the kitchen, in addition, these types of recipes are made quickly and taste delicious. Grab paper and pen and cook.


  • 90g of egg whites
  • a spoonful of cream cheese
  • 30gr of oat flakes
  • a teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • a gram of beetroot powder
  • half a teaspoon of chemical yeast powder
  • a pinch of salt


The first thing to do is grind the oat flakes well until you get a kind of flour. Then add the rest of the ingredients and mix well until you get a homogeneous mass.

As a tip, if we haven’t got beet powder we can add a little cooked beet or the juice that the beet brings. In this case, we will have to add a little more oatmeal so that the mixture does not remain too liquid.

As our idea is that the pancakes have that reddish color that the beet gives, they must be cooked over low heat, if our vitro has 6 levels we must heat the pan at 3 and cook the pancakes at 2.

The next step, therefore, is to put a splash of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) in a pan, we must spread it well over the entire surface with kitchen paper or a brush. Tip: so that the pancakes are the same we must measure the amount of dough that we use in each one with a tablespoon.

Therefore, we put a spoonful of dough in the pan and spread a little, wait for bubbles to come out and turn it over. We put it on a plate and a little Greek yogurt on top to continue putting pancakes on top and make our tower. As a final decorative touch we can put a little more yogurt on top and some cocoa nibs.
