In dialogue with Successful, the general secretary of the National Federation of Emolienteros and Allied Workers of Peru (FENTEP), Edgar Saenz Cunzaannounced a future national march due to the increase in the price of various inputs, mainly sugar, which has been affecting them economically. Furthermore, he claimed that the Municipality of La Victoria charge them excessive tax.

“We have a big problem because in Lima we pay S/ 105.80 a year; however, here in La Victoria they charge 25 soles daily. So, we are talking about almost 9 thousand soles a year. From where are we going to pay with this brutal rise that we emollient owners have suffered with sugar, milk, eggs, disposable cups, oil, gas? Everything has gone up 100% to more“said the leader.
Given this, he mentioned that all the members of the guild he presides over are going to hold a meeting to carry out a “preventive march” and “if they ignore us, we will hold a national march” for the district of La Victoria “because of the abuse that They are doing”.
Along these lines, he stated that they have been doing everything possible to provide a quality breakfast to ordinary citizens and that they provide a better service than the Qali Warma program, where deficiencies in food were reported on several occasions.

“We do everything within our reach to try to provide the best service to our clients; we train ourselves and work in a better way to be able to have the prestige that we emollient owners have earned. It has never been heard that an emollient has done harm like Qali Warmawhich happens many times,” added Sáenz.
“Nobody eats a breakfast with S/ 2.50. If we continue to maintain those prices, we will be practically working for the love of work. Here 75% women and older adults work. So, they cannot continue committing this abuse, the mayor should understand that we are being hit with the rise in supplies,” he asserted.
