La Paz, March 5 (ANF). – A variety of seasonal fruits, dairy products, cereals, baked goods and honey will be part of the school breakfast menu that will begin to be distributed from Monday in public and agreement schools in the municipality of La Paz.


The announcement was made by Mayor Iván Arias who assured that more than 137 thousand students from the initial, primary and secondary levels who take face-to-face and semi-face-to-face classes will benefit from the food.


“From Monday in all educational units, whether they are face-to-face or semi-face-to-face classes, we will deliver school breakfast; school breakfast is ready; it will be delivered starting Monday and throughout this year”, said the mayor.


The municipal secretary of Education and Social Development, Amparo Morales, reported that “we have the pleasant news that on Monday, March 7, we will begin with the distribution of the school breakfast”, after a “transparent contracting process” to award the companies that They will take care of all the distribution.


He explained that the school snack is properly fortified, consisting of three batches: baked goods, honey and fruit, and miscellaneous and dairy products. Each batch contains different products that have also been fortified with other nutrients so that the complementary food “really benefits students”.


Morales specified that the baked goods have to do with rice bread, almond cakes, different varieties of wheat, most with cereals, “so that it is not the ordinary flour that we know, and that they can really nourish” children and young people.

The Secretary of Education and Social Development specified that food deliveries will be made personally to students who already pass face-to-face classes. In the case of schoolchildren who are still attending blended learning, deliveries will be once a week and to parents, in the same establishment.


“As we still do not have all the educational units in person, a weekly delivery will be made to the parents, and to the children if they are already in classrooms so that they can receive the rations daily,” Morales said. .


The municipal authority affirmed that the delivery of the school breakfast from Monday, March 7 will still be in the testing stage because there are educational units that pass face-to-face classes, others semi-face-to-face and some virtual.


“On Monday we start with the distribution, it is still a test, because we have educational units that are virtual and blended, that go every other day, and some that are already in person for five days; to those who are in person, the daily delivery will be made in the educational units, ”said Morales.
