Exhibits Silvia Montecchiesi.- Today at 7pm. In Pencil Gallery (Sobremonte 1682) the Herbatica exhibition of the Cordovan artist is inaugurated. From the words of the artist: “In my work I investigate the relationship between Art and Natural Sciences. I work around botany, taking native flora as the main object of study. I intend to communicate through art using its languages, but putting them strictly as in the scientific method; It is a way that I find exciting to publicize both the native flora and the migrant flora that make up our landscape. I use scientific illustration resources such as meticulous observation in magnifying glasses and microscopes and the stippling technique. I use the classic drawing techniques to revalue them and that in turn lead us to make a link with stories with plants that are part of our lives.

My interest is fundamentally to interact in different social circuits, taking the knowledge that is produced in science to art and vice versa. This fascination for conserving, for the legacies in relation to plants is also a visibility of the women in my family who related to them in different but equally passionate ways”.
