Corn cream, traditional and tasty Mexican recipe

Elote, better known in Spain as corn, is the total protagonist in this recipe. The ingredients that we are going to need to prepare the cream of corn are very few and, even if it is a mexican recipewe can find all of them without any problem in our trusted supermarket.

In my case, I’m going to use canned sweet corn which, therefore, is already boiled. However, if you prefer, you can use fresh corn. In this case, you will simply have to add a step at the beginning of everything and boil the grains for 40 minutes. Keep reading the steps and you will see that this is a very easy recipe to make and with which you will leave your guests with their mouths open. Let’s go for her!

Corn cream ingredients for 4 people

  • 75g butter
  • 1 onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • Salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 500 g canned corn or canned sweet corn
  • 1 liter of chicken broth
  • 250 ml of cooking cream
  • Dried dill (to decorate)

How to make corn cream

To begin with, put the 75 g of butter in a pot and when it has melted, add 75 g of onion and 4 minced garlic cloves. Season to taste.

Next, we add 500 g of canned corn or sweet corn, reserving a few kernels to add to the cream at the end of the recipe. If we prefer to use fresh corn, we would have to cook the grains beforehand for 40 minutes.

Pour 1 liter of chicken broth into the pot and let the mixture boil for 20 minutes over medium heat.

When this time has passed, pour 250 ml of cooking cream and mix everything well.

Next, we grind the whole mixture very well in a blender, strain it and serve it. We sprinkle a little dried dill on top to decorate and place the corn kernels that we had previously reserved. To enjoy!
